When planning Visit Delaware’s new website experience, much was made of allowing users to explore the website in different ways. Utilizing advanced search, filterable catalog pages, map views, and more, we delivered on that by creating fun paths through their catalogs of destinations, events, and blog posts.

Filters Filters Filters

When you have over 500 destinations and hundreds more events cataloged on your site, you never know who might show up to browse. If you’re the planning type, you might love navigating using the robust filters available through the site’s wide-ranging category pages. If you’re “Mr. specific”, searching for any keyword will land you right where you wanted to be. The site supports hundreds of categories, activities, culinary genres, and even hyper specific filers like places that are ADA accessible or allow pets!

For Every Destination, A map

One of the more fun features of the site is an interactive map of every destination cataloged in the county. This super robust mapping functionality allows an at-a-glance view of food & drink locales, places to stay, and every business and landmark worth your visit.

Your Guide to Anytime Fun

For the traveler or local who likes combining a good time with a goal (and sometimes a prize!), Visit Delaware has several trails that challenge participants to try different coffee shops, wineries, breweries, and local fishing holes. Escape Hatch brought the trail experience to the web by creating interactive trail pages displaying maps, influencer content, and ways to submit user-generated content back to Visit Delaware to be featured in social media.

Making Events Center Stage

Events are a crucial part of tourism marketing but they’re also a lot to keep on top of. To help Visit Delaware’s small team stay ahead of event creation, Escape Hatch utilized A.I. curation tech from Yodel to deliver an elegant, robust event calendar solution. We are proud to be the first agency to fully customize the Yodel event feed, helping to shape their API and create a fully branded experience for Visit Delaware.

Making Planning a Breeze

One of the coolest features of Visit Delaware’s new website is the Trip Planner that we designed from scratch. This feature allows the user to curate destinations into a list that can then be shared via a unique link, or made physical using a custom print stylesheet built into the code.
